Friends have asked me if I would recommend The Haven Resort Ipoh after I shared about my stay there on my social media, and my answer is a big YES! I have to admit that there are more affordable accommodation options in Ipoh, but there are many reasons why I think it is totally worth it if you are hoping for a rejuvenating & restful family vacation:

1. Peace & Serenity

The one thing I absolutely miss about The Haven is the view I get every morning when I wake up. I’ve never stayed in an accommodation so near to a hill before and the hill view never fails to amaze me. There is a sense of peace and serenity when I look out of my balcony and I can stare at the scenery all day. This was one vacation that I really felt rested in my mind, and I attribute it to this hill view. It calms me down and puts my mind at ease.

2. Beautiful Landscaping

One of the things I really enjoyed doing every morning after breakfast was to take a stroll on the trail round the lake. You can choose to jog on this trail or just take a slow walk with your family while admiring the greenery and beautiful landscaping. I love the fresh smell of trees and plants all over – so therapeutic!

3. Fun Facilities

We enjoyed the swimming pool at The Havens everyday – There was even a hot tub for us to soak in at night when it got cooler! I love it that the swimming pool was an infinity pool that overlooked the lake and hills – It was such a bliss to spend time in the pool all day long!

There was a slide as well and even I had fun sliding down numerous times! =P

The resort also has other facilities such as gym and different courts you can book for playing squash & badminton etc.

I enjoyed breakfast every morning in the midst of the beautiful landscaping and of course, every breakfast was an enjoyable experience.

4. Nearby Attractions

About 5 minutes’ car ride from The Haven Resort is the Tambun Pomelo Farm, which I visited one morning. It was interesting for city dwellers like us who have never seen a pomelo farm before, so even though the farm was not huge, we had fun walking through it and enjoying fresh fruits at the end of the walk. The fruits were so juicy and sweet!

Easily accessible by car or taxi from the resort is the Ipoh Old Town, where we went around eating the famous local delicacy of Beansprouts Chicken Rice, Oven Baked Salted Chicken and checking out their different street murals. This is all part of soaking in the Ipoh culture – something not to be missed.
