The haze hits us unexpectedly and rather often lately, and while I am thankful that I am not usually affected by the haze myself, I am concerned about what my kids are breathing in. They complain that the smell is bad and that their throats feel itchy and dry, and I knew I had to do something about it. Been procrastinating to get an air purifier for the house, but I don’t really know which one to go for until I was introduced to Dyson’s Pure Cool Purifying Fans and I thought it would be perfect to get something that keeps us cool and yet purify the air quality at the same time!
Having tried the Dyson Pure Cool Purifying Fans for a while, let me outline some reasons why I think it’s a good buy for every household:
1. So Sleek & Pretty
I mean, just look at how pretty it is. It blends in seamlessly into my house decor, and I like it that it looks high-tech and effective just by its appearance! It is no longer enough for household appliances to be useful – They need to look good as well! It’s definitely not an eyesore with its minimalist look, and while it’s rather tall, it doesn’t appear bulky or in-the-way.
There is also a simple LCD screen on the fan for you to show you the real-time report of what particles and gases are being detected and cleansed by the machine. This is done using a unique Dyson algorithm processes the input from three sensors and then displays air quality readings. Nothing too flashy – Simple & minimalistic, but gets the job done.
2. Easy To Connect & Use
There is a Dyson app (available on both iOS & Android) that I can download and connect it to my fan so that I can monitor the air quality level of my house and environment, as well as the temperature & humidity outside and inside the house. Technology and I are not exactly good friends, but I was pleasantly surprised that connecting my app to the fan was easy peasy, and everything was done in less than 10 minutes. I could start monitoring everything via the app on my mobile phone and even remotely control the fan. More about that in the next point.
Dyson Pure Cool Purifying Fans are different from the other fan models by Dyson because of the filters. They work to clean the air while providing air flow and cools the place down at the same time. I love how multi-functional this is. Otherwise, I would have to keep a fan AND a purifier on at the same time – Waste space & energy. Dyson’s Pure Cool purifying fans feature a 360 degree fully-sealed filter system combining an activated carbon filter to remove gases, and a Glass HEPA filter that captures 99.95% of microscopic allergens and pollutants as small as 0.1 microns. If you have young kids at home, you can totally keep your heart at ease.
3. Air Multiplying Function
The Dyson Pure Cool purifying fan is the only purifier with Air Multiplier technology and 350⁰ degree oscillation, allowing it to project clean air to every corner of the room. How amazing is that?! This ensures that no matter where your guests are seated in your house, they can enjoy clean and fresh air as well. Air circulation in a room is important to me, so this is a very important function to me. Since it is a bladeless fan, the wind direction can be altered to suit your needs, and you can control that easily using the remote control or via the app as well.
4. Remote Control
Back to the use of the app, one of the most amazing functions of the app is the ability to control the fan remotely. Not only can you control the fan settings at any time, you can also set the fan to switch on for a certain period of time, or to start operating at a specific time. When the weather gets too hot, switch on your fan first before you reach home, to cool down your living area before you reach home. I think that’s a really nice function. Household appliances are getting more and more intelligent nowadays!
5. It Works!
Having said all, if the fan does not achieve its original purpose of purifying the air in my house, then I wouldn’t want to recommend it to you at all. Look at the readings before the fan was used:
And this is after a couple of hours of keeping the fan on.
See, it works! The air in my living room got cleaner! Note: My living room has big windows and they are fully open during the trial, and PSI was at 96 (Not terrible but not good as well).
If you are considering to get a purifier for your home in view of the heightening haze situation, I would recommend that you get the Dyson Pure Cool Purifying Fan instead so that even when the haze is not so bad, you can still continue to purify the air in your home for the well-being of your loved ones. Nobody says no to clean air, right? :)
