Brought Baby Jayne to Sentosa when Joey was in school for her class photo-taking yesterday.
Baby Jayne asleep in the red pram (Yes!! The red pram makes a grand entrance once again!!)
I decided to chill at the Sand Bar while Baby Jayne slept.
The essential elements of a chilling-out time..
Nice place
Nice seats
Nice tableware
Nice magazine
Nice food
Nice drink
Baby Jayne slept while the cool sea breeze blew at her face..
Then she woke up for her milk..
In a daze just after waking up.
When I told her we were at Sentosa, she was super happy!
But only for a while, before she returns to a state of daze again.
Then I told her we were going to walk walk on the beach, and she was happy again.
Changed her into something cooler, and off we went… It’s her first time on a beach! :)
The weather was so hot.. so before she dehydrates, I quickly pushed her back to the car for some good ole air-conditioning. Haha!
Then we went to fetch Joey from her school, and made our way to the Jacobs Ballas Children’s Garden! Said to be the first garden in Asia dedicated to children, you need to be accompanied by a child aged 12 or below to get in. It’s basically an interactive garden for kids to learn about plants and life sciences.
Everything here is created with the kid in mind. Even the cafe offers kid-sized furnitures, with only a few tables at the sides for adults.
All excited to go into the garden!
There’s a water play area for the kids..
This is an interesting part of the garden – A Tree House! Complete with long tunnel slides!!
Comes with wooden log tables & chairs on the 2nd level…
Some experiments kids can do in this part of the garden like banging on a hollow log to hear the sounds and playing instruments made from bamboo..
Check out this funny rubber tree. It’s decked out in many products made of rubber… Spot the string of rubber duckies? Heee..
There’s also a really short tree for kids to practise tree-climbing.. I think the kids are more garung than the parents. I was so afraid she might fall!
There’s also one sand playground, where kids can explore elements of gravity and different physic sciences. For older kids though..
Joey may be too young to recognise the cotton plant or pong pong tree, but at least she got to touch them and feel their textures, which I thought was a good learning experience for her as well.
Ended with a snack at the cafe.
The garden is a very small place, but I thought it was just the right size for kids as their attention span is not long. It’s also complete with interesting elements like playgrounds, treehouse, interactive play, which makes it interesting for the kids to play & learn at the same time. What’s more, there’re large open spaces for the kids to run around and just enjoy! We went in the evening, so the weather was cool and there were many ang mohs there with their kids and even having picnics. Really quite nice & relaxing.
When we got back to the car, Joey kept saying, ‘I like this place!’ Haha..
Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden – Singapore Botanic Gardens (1 Cluny Road), Open Tue-Sun 8am-7pm, Closed on Mon (except if it falls on a public holiday). Free admission.
