So How’s The Little One Doing?

Well, well, well… some quick updates on how Baby Jayne is coping in the office nursery.

You would have read earlier on that Baby Jayne has encountered her first real challenge in life (apart from latching onto my breast) when she had to get used to a new bed in the nursery.

When we were back in office yesterday, I told the caregivers NOT to let her sit in the rocker at all the whole day, just so that she can quickly get used to the bed. I don’t even mind letting her cry the whole day, because I know the rewards beyond that are far greater. Hehe. Once she gets used to sleeping in the bed, she would get ample rest and in the long run, I will have a healthy & happy baby. Short term pains for long term gain.

And so, that was what they did yesterday and I’m happy to report that it has been a success, no less! =D She slept on the bed for one hour, woke up, fussed a little, then they changed her position to sleeping chest down, and she continued to sleep for another 2 hours. Three hours in all in the bed! Not bad! =) And after talking to the caregiver this morning, I am more confident now that she has grasped Baby Jayne’s style & pattern, and now knows how to put her to sleep quickly. Yep, every baby has their own styles and once you catch it, handling the baby will be a breeze!

Bathing Baby Jayne when we got home yesterday.

I did notice that her voice was coarse yesterday evening when I picked her up from the nursery. Maybe she really cried a lot more. =P But I shall keep the heart pain in check while waiting patiently for the day when she would be totally at ease in the nursery and settle down happily there! The day’s going to come soon!! =D
