I think that’s true, no matter what age we are at.
Babies exist mostly in a world of their own. They are self-centered, and all they can see are their own needs and what they want. At this stage, they don’t really need friends. They only need milk and their mummy, that’s all (ok, daddy as well. Sometimes.).
But as they grow older, they start to realize (with horror or not, I’m not sure) that the world does not revolve around them alone. There are many other elements around them, and slowly, they understand that they need to consider those around them as well. That’s what we call, in simpler terms, maturity.
Baby Jayne is obviously still at a very self-centered stage now.
She can entertain herself for the longest time as long as there’re things for her to play with. She doesn’t care who’s around her. (Mummy must be nearby of course)
So even when this Gor Gor came by and sit with her, stare at her and keeps wanting to get her attention, she totally ignores him.
This Gor Gor is so cute. He refused to leave, and insisted on sitting together with Baby Jayne. How nice to have someone admire Baby Jayne like that. =P But too bad, he doesn’t look like a milk bottle, a biscuit or a toy, so Baby Jayne won’t be attracted anyhow.
But she’s completely unaffected. She did not even take a look at him! And Gor Gor raised his eyebrows, probably wondering why this girl is so stuck up. =P
Well, someday she’ll realize how important friends are… They’re God’s gifts to us to remind us of how much He loves us. Awwwww… :)
