The much awaited Finals finally arrived!
I reached Scape more than an hour before the competition starts, and already there were dozens of people waiting for the doors to open! The whole atmosphere was just bustling with excitement and anticipation! I was looking forwarding to watching a fantastic dance event!
Lots of free F&N Sparkling drinks were given at the venue for everyone!
An interesting fringe activity at the venue was this photo-taking booth, where you can dress up yourself with wigs, feathers etc, and take photos with the antique car.. The top 10 photos that exhibit the most fun element would win Adidas vouchers!
So I tried! Muahahahahaha…
The 6 bloggers tasked to cover the event!! We’ve become friends, how wonderful! =D
Just look at the crowd!
And now, let’s see what the supporters got to say…. =D
Pamphlet given to everyone… The 19 finalist teams! All competing for a chance to compete in Osaka, Japan on an international stage!
Here comes the 19 dance teams! All beaming with pride and pumped with lots of confidence. Confidence is half a battle won! Everyone made a grand entrance on the red carpet!
Every team was full of confidence…
And just enjoying their red carpet moment with camera flashes for a whole 5 minutes!
The supporters cheered and roared as they walked in one by one…
Makes me feel that being young is so good!
The best kids hip hop crew in Singapore! They were guest performers for the night!
You can also see that everyone put in 101% to their costumes..
Really cool and dance.. The coordinated costumes make the whole dance routine look better of course!
The 2nd lady from the right was our dance instructor who taught us the F&N Dance! She danced so well during the Finals! Wee Wee!
Not every team is made up of more than 4 people.. This team has only 2, and they rocked the house down!
So sexy & pretty, these girls! =D A fellow blogger asked me if I dared to wear their costumes to Orchard Road… =.= OF COURSE NOT LA! Haha.. these look good on stage, but look too over outside!
Amazingly, these guys’ hats didn’t fall off during their performance. I suspected they used super glue instead of hair gel for their hair…
This team’s costume reminded me of Olive, Popeye’s wife! =P
These quirky guys are obviously not old men. It’s part of their costume make-up and the even acted as old men on the red carpet! keke..
The only team with props – Purple feathery fans!
This was one of my favorite teams.. These guys can really dance!
An all-girls team!
Dancers have funny dress sense sometimes.. Check out the girl on the extreme right.. =P Cool are her round specs!
All of them looked so awesome, isn’t it?? :)
And he is Machine, the Japanese who started Japan Dance Delight 17 years ago and one of the judges for the evening! He’s super duper COOL! And yes, he danced like a machine!
Here are the rest of the judges! All amazing dancers in their own right..
And now, let’s go take a look at some snippets of the competition. I tell ya, I was just at the stagefront and I had a close look at all the different dance teams, and I was totally blown away by their talents. Their every move, facial expression and costumes were dazzling and amazing!
The crowd went wild!!! The choreography were perfect and their passion was contagious!
Finally, it was time for the results and the WINNER of Singapore Dance Delight Vol. 1 is…….
JOYCE & THE BOYS!!!!!
Do us proud in Japan, guys!!!
