One of the things I enjoy doing most with my kids is bringing them outdoors to run freely. That’s the only time I allow them to run and roam without nagging at them. That is of course good for everyone.
Yesterday was Youth Day and there was no school for Joey, so we brought the girls to Botanical Gardens. Perfect place to run and make lots of noise if you ask me. There’re lots of space and not many people.
I really enjoy such outings with my girls, especially when I have all the time in the world. They stop to look at every thing along the tracks, and I’m totally cool with that. I think learning is best done outdoors and by observing what’s happening around us.
The girls obviously love it too. They have so much energy inside of them to expend!
The Botanical Gardens is absolutely the best place to take long walks. The air is fresh and there’s abundance of greenery. Completely refreshes me.
Saw some really pretty flower patches at the Gardens. They were in the prettiest shade of pink. Even Joey was attracted by them. =D
The weather was scorching hot though, as we were there at mid afternoon. Both my girls were literally soaked in sweat. What a great workout it was, just walking through the Gardens.
The huge grass field is perfect for picnics. It was so comfortable sitting on the grass enjoying the warmth of the sunlight. The next time I bring the kids there, I’m going to pack a picnic basket there, and just let the kids run around while I read a book. Should be awesome.
Baby Jayne was so cute. She wanted to touch everything. She saw some running water, and wanted to touch it..
She saw rocks and wanted to feel them..
… she saw leaves on the ground and picked them up one by one.. =) Nature is the best teacher!
The Botanical Gardens is really a perfect place for young and old. The young gets to run freely and the old gets rejuvenated by the sound of flowing waters, smell of trees and grass and the gentle breeze. It’s the best way to spend a school holiday with my dear ones. =)
