Review: Omnilux Light Therapy

Product Review

I have to admit that as a woman, I am a very lazy one.

My daily facial cleansing routine is a simple three-step one that includes cleansing, toning & moisturizing. Once in a blue moon, I slap on a facial mask and I almost never go for facials. That probably explains why my complexion is less than perfect. But as I age, taking good care of my skin is becoming more and more important. Especially with a busy and hectic lifestyle like mine, my skin craves for some pampering from time to time.

When I was invited by Sccube The Apothecary to try out their Omnilux Light Therapy, I was curious about its effectiveness. It is after all, raved as the ‘gold-standard’ for medical and aesthetic LED skin care. Basically, this treatment uses light emitted at specific and narrow wavelengths to ensure optimal photobiomodulation of target skin cells and maximum treatment efficacy. The Omnilux Light Therapy treats a wide range of dermatological conditions including acne, skin rejuvenation, pain management, PDT treatments and more.

Different light is used during the therapy to achieve a different aim. And the interesting thing is you can combine the different lights to achieve your desired outcomes, such as combining Omnilux Revive with Omnilux Blue for treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris, or combining Omnilux Revive with Omnilux Plus for treatment of periorbital wrinkles.

The day I went for my treatment, I had some acne on my face that appeared just the day before. “How timely!”, I thought to myself. But, as a person who seldom go for facial treatments, I had my concerns. And I made sure I asked all the questions before I started:

Me: How long will this take?
Beautician: Only 20 minutes. Very fast.
Me: Oh? That’s fast. Will there be any pain?
Beautician: No, no pain at all.
Me: Does it involve any poking on my face? I am super scared of pain.
Beautician: Don’t worry. It’s non-invasive.
Me: Wait, I have such tanned complexion. Can this work well for my skin tone too?
Beautician: Yes, this is suitable for all skin types including tanned skin.

The treatment was everything my beautician promised me. The Omnilux Light Therapy is a fast & fuss-free procedure that involves shining the suitable light on the face. All I felt during the treatment was a little warmth. Other than that, I was just relaxing and resting while waiting for the procedure to be done.

After the 20 minutes, my beautician took a look at my face and exclaimed, “Wow, your face brightened up so much!” I checked out my face in the mirror and it was true! My dull complexion has been brightened up by a mere 20 minutes of Omnilux Light Therapy – results were instant! Very amazing.

My Verdict:

Of course, I wouldn’t be able to tell how effective the treatment really is because I’ve only done it once. But the immediate result after just one treatment was pretty good. I could see visible improvement in my skin texture and brightness. The pores seem finer and felt cleaner as well.

The whole process takes a mere 20 minutes, so this is a perfect lunch-time pampering session. Unlike some treatments that can be very time-consuming, this even allows you time leftover for shopping after the treatment. :)

Enough-said. Nobody likes pain and anything non-invasive is safer of course.

Apparently, if you go through a series of the Omnilux Therapy treatments, you will be able to experience long-term results for your skin.  I’m sure nobody will say no to better complexion and healthier skin!
