Those of you who are familiar with programs organized by NTUC U Family would have heard of the ‘Romancing U’ event that happens every year. The goal of the program is to help couples reconnect with their partners, renew the passion and relive their blissful courting days. Keeping the romance going in a marriage is not just important – it is one of the most crucial factors that determine the strength of a marriage. This is especially so after the couple become parents. One thing I always tell my couple friends is that we should never put romance as our last priority because only happy couples can be happy parents.
This year, Romancing U is back with a compelling and exciting program! There will be a romantic movie screening under the stars (“Midnight in Paris” starring Owen Wilson & Rachel McAdams) with free flow of Nescafe coffee and snacks!
I’ve always wanted to watch an open-air movie, so I got very excited reading about this! Imagine hundreds other couples all doing the same – How spectacular! The kids would be taken care of by my very kind parents that night, so the husband and I can have a nice, romantic time under the stars, haha!
Of course, besides the movie screening, you can expect many other interesting highlights that night as well:
- Cruise along the Singapore River in a Love Boat
- Live performance of songs and ballads by local acoustic band, Paraphrase.

Create and bring home your own Couple Treats Jar, Love Candle and Potpurri
- Dance away to the tunes of beautiful love songs led by professional instructors
- You can either bring your own picnic food along, or you can purchase and enjoy gourmet food on wheels by Kerbside and sweet desserts by 32Degrees Fahrenheit.
- Have your couple shots taken at the unique Photo Studio booths

As you can see, all the programs are planned to make it a special and romantic night for the couples to relax, spend quality time with each other and then bring something memorable home with them. I think this is such a perfect date night out! :)
