There are so many good food choices in JB that we always have a hard time deciding when we pay a visit across the Causeway. I miss the very yummy Bak Kut Teh at Soon Soon Heng (opposite road from KSL Mall), so we had that yesterday when we were there. A super satisfying meal!
We always order a big pot of BKT filled to the brim with ingredients to share. You can have ribs, straw & enoki mushrooms, beancurd skin, intestines, liver, abalone clams, etc in the pot, and their other side dishes are great as well. We always order the braised peanuts and fried doughsticks to go along with our meal.
Google+ ingeniously combined several similar shots I took of my mother-in-law stirring our pot of BKT into this stop-motion video clip, and you can see the abundance of goodness in it. Yums.
While you are there, you need to order the Sesame Ginger Chicken as well. The meat’s tender, smooth and the dish is perfect with steamed rice. Makes a hearty meal every single time.
We always end our meal with the thirst-quenching and refreshing Iced Aiyu. It’s a kind of jelly that tastes sweet and sour. Perfect at the end of an oily meal.
You’ve got to try this if you have not! My absolute favorite BKT in JB. :)
