It’s such a joy when I get to visit a nice cafe with good ambience, interior decor and great coffee and food. This time round, I got out of Singapore and hopped over to Johor Bahru for my perfect cuppa of coffee on a Monday afternoon. I seriously didn’t know that the cafe culture is catching on in JB – What a nice surprise!
Love this walkway into The Brew Orchestra. Lighting is obviously a huge part of the decor in this cafe, and from the onset, you are prepared for that perfect brew in a classy and cosy place.
Love the centerpiece long table with the pretty lamps above. Apparently, this table is made from one whole piece of wood – How exquisite! There are abundant seats in the cafe with different corners carved out for different groups of customers to have a relaxing time with their friends.
Notice the lines on the ceiling? That’s supposed to resemble harp strings, inline with the name of the cafe – The Brew Orchestra. Love the idea! It’s no wonder the cafe’s interior design is an award-winning piece!
If you like, you can also take the bar counter seats. It’s pretty interesting to watch the barristers prepare the drinks. So much precision and focus just to make a perfect brew.
This little corner will be converted to a place to roast coffee beans. Imagine the aroma in the place when that happens!
The cafe also serves cakes and snacks to go along with your coffee and tea.
That’s the boss of The Brew Orchestra, preparing our drinks. :)
The barrister is so good at his job! Absolutely love our coffee art!
Look at the swan!! So pretty.
The cakes were not made in-house but delicious nonetheless. I can’t remember the names of the cakes I tried, but this first round dome cake has a nice chocolate taste that is not too sweet. But I definitely like the second cake better – It’s a perfect concoction of chocolate and banana and it literally melts in the mouth with a fragrant banana taste. Love it!
Apart from the usual lattes and Americanos, this cafe serves up premium coffees hand-brewed and served in a jar (like the one my Aunt ordered below). Coffee gourmets should totally try this!
See these interesting jars and flasks that makes you think you are in a Science lab? =P These are used to make cold-drip coffee in the cafe, which is another type of premium coffee served here. A chat with the boss revealed that every cup of cold-drip coffee takes 10 hours to complete the dripping process, then another few days for the fermentation process to be done. The final product is a cup of coffee with an alcoholic taste, much like whisky. I didn’t get to try it, but just hearing the process makes it sound amazing!
What a great find at Johor Bahru. Looks like I might hop over for some more cafe hunts soon. :)
