Heard so much about Stateland Café but didn’t have a chance to visit until recently. I was craving for thick toasts and dragged my friends to go with me on a Sunday afternoon. Turned out to be a very sweet afternoon indeed, and I really like their sweet thick toasts! The vintage-industrial themed café occupies two levels - Level 1 was pretty packed when we arrived, so we went on to Level 2 and was so glad we found a ‘private room’ available – It was perfect for our little group!
Love the gunny sacks hanging from above!
The ‘private room’ had a door that we could close and have all the privacy we need and make all the noise we want, but it got a little stuffy so we kept the door open.
Love how ‘autumn’ the whole space feels. The naked cement wells made it a very photogenic space. =D
The kids love desserts anytime. And with café-loving parents like us, they’ve grown to love café-hopping as well! Sometimes when we are out as a family and didn’t know where to go, they would go, ‘Why don’t we visit a café and have some coffee and cakes?’ =P
The food’s really not bad here at Stateland Café – The pasta’s portion was quite pathetic, though very tasty. Coffee’s not bad too.
But the real reason why we were there was for the waffles and thick toasts! Red velvet waffles with ice-cream! ($14.90)
And we tried two thick toasts – The Classic Honey Toast (S$10.90) was simple but delightful with fruits and ice-cream.
But my favorite that afternoon was this newly released black thick toast – Charcoal thick toast ($14.90),drizzled with malt sugar, added with liquid marshmallow, salted caramel and topped with coconut ice cream and toasted nuts! Tasted so good! =D
Thankful for the company of friends who indulged in my craving that afternoon. I heart you guys! =D
