One of the best things about staying in a wonderful hotel is the Club lounge, in my opinion. There are so many privileges tied to Club lounge access that I feel it’s absolutely worth it to pay extra for it. When I visited Hotel Intercontinental Bangkok last month, they were very kind to include the Club Lounge access for my room and the husband and I enjoyed many delicious meals and quiet, relaxing moments there in the midst of rowdy and busy Bangkok. I feel so thankful for that!
Like most Club Lounges, Club Intercontinental Lounge offers several meals exclusive for its guests. You can opt to have Champagne breakfast in the comfort of the lounge, if you prefer not to have your buffet spread at the café with the rest of the hotel guests. In the case of Hotel Intercontinental Bangkok, I absolutely recommend that. You’ll see why as we go along.
Apart from the breakfast, you can also enjoy hi-tea spread at 2pm and cocktails at 5pm, where cocktails and alcohols are served along with delicious food. Of course, drinks (non-alcoholic) are served complimentary throughout the day as well.
BREAKFAST
The buffet spread at the Lounge is quite similar to that at the main breakfast café. However, to make it more personalized, the Lounge offers a selection of different breakfast sets you can order to go along with the buffet. I subsequently realized that the sets are also offered at the breakfast café, just among all the buffet items. At the Lounge, they serve it like a main course. It’s all about the packaging and presentation. =P
This was from the buffet spread.
From this menu, you can choose your main course.
I opted for the Japanese bento set, and this beautiful bento set was served to me. I was so pleasantly surprised and dug into it happily!
Pretty breakfasts give me a hearty appetite! I finished everything! =X
Here’s a portion of the rest of the breakfast buffet spread. I must say this was one of the biggest breakfast spread I’ve seen in a Club Lounge. Thumbs up for the effort!
HI-TEA
The view from the Club Intercontinental Lounge was fabulous. Having hi-tea from up there was one of the best enjoyment during the trip.
A hi-tea set of the usual scones, sandwiches and tarts was served to us, along with our choice of coffee and tea.
COCKTAILS
The cocktails spread was impressive. Even though we’ve had dinner, we could not stop getting more food, and different kinds of cocktails and mocktails are available for ordering too!
Above all the good food that they served, the service level was commendable. The staff were always be standby and were very sensitive to our needs. They recognized our faces and remembered our names, and made us feel very at home every time we visit the lounge. It is this kind of service level that makes us feel like going back to the hotel again and again. :)
If you are travelling to Bangkok, do considering booking your stay with Hotel Intercontinental Bangkok. It would be your best decision ever.
