Just last weekend, our family enjoyed a fabulous meal at the iconic glasshouse Fish & Co at Dhoby Gaut. Love the time spent with them, especially when we were having really delicious food!
Quite frankly, I’ve not dined at Fish & Co for a while. But it remained as one of those restaurants with fond memories for me, especially during my schooling years. The food was always good and hearty, and I love their platters above all!
Love the colorful vibes in the restaurant. Definitely cheered me up on a Saturday evening, and whetted my appetite for a good meal ahead.
The kids were treated like kings at Fish & Co, I must say. The moment we were seated down, they were promptly presented with the kids’ menu, coloring and activity sheets, color pencils, crowns and even soft toys as souvenirs! I initially thought that it was part of their Children’s Day promotion, but apparently, they do this all the time! Every kid who walks into a Fish & Co gets to choose a soft toy and the toy selection changes every month. Thumbs up for their service. :) While waiting for our food to arrive, the kids were happily entertained and the adults could have nice and relaxed conversations. Really my idea of a cosy family dinner.
Our drinks arrived first, and the husband and I ordered their Mojito mocktails – Lychee and Citrus. Refreshing and it got me ready to start feasting!
We ordered three appetizers to share, and both were delicious. The fried calamaris were lightly battered and very crispy. This dish is an all-time favorite, and Joey couldn’t stop popping them into her mouth.
I enjoyed this dish of Clams in Curry Butter, because the sauce was delicious! We were provided with warm bread to dip into the sauce with – So good!
The Salmon Carpaccio was the husband’s favorite and according to him, it was fresh and delicious. Well, I cannot comment because I don’t take raw or smoked items, but it certainly looked pretty to me! =X
I always love a good Aglio Olio, and this Prawns and Clams Aglio Olio was done almost to perfection, if only it was a little saltier. The prawns and clams were so fresh that the sweetness literally exploded in my mouth. This is definitely a tummy pleaser.
Jayne opted for the Classic Carbonara and as you can see, could not even wait for me to finish taking photos before she dug in. The sauce was rich and creamy, with generous chunks of chicken and mushrooms. Kids would certainly love this dish!
Joey went for the New York Fish & Chips, and after taking a bite of the fish, she exclaimed, “Mummy, there’s not only cheese ON the fish, the cheese’s INSIDE the fish as well!” She’s a cheese lover, alright. =P
My mum couldn’t decide between fish & chicken and so went for a combination of both. We were surprised by how good the tandoori chicken was! It was flavorful in every bite and so hearty!
My mother-in-law decided to try their Monthly Special – Tandoori Norwegian Salmon, and she loved it! It was cooked to perfection with a slight char. Really yummy!
And of course, how can we enter a Fish & Co and not order one of their platters, right?? I love their seafood platters, because I want to try everything! It was as good as I remembered – The prawns, calamaris, mussels, fish, fries and rice! Oh still as good as I remembered it to be!!
Of course, we had to end our meal on a sweet note and this chocolate lava cake was it. We were so full that our stomachs were bursting but still happily digging in.
Now, if you feel enticed to try Fish & Co by now, please know that they have wonderful promotions ongoing! Check them out here.
This coming Friday on 9 Oct (Children’s Day!), all kids get to eat for free! With every main course ordered, your kids get to choose a Kid’s Meal for themselves! =D
The Kids’ meal looks good and healthy!
