Disney On Ice 2016: The WOW! Factors For This Year’s Show

Media Invite

Disney On Ice is an annual pilgrimage for us. My girls love Disney characters, especially Elsa & Anna in recent years (like 0290283928382378923 other kids, I’m sure!). So this year, there is no way we will miss Disney On Ice because one portion of the show is dedicated to them. I’m so pleased to say that the show did not disappoint at all. In fact, I think it’s the best Disney On Ice thus far! I enjoyed every bit of the two-hour show - Yes even I!

If you’ve been to past years’ Disney On Ice as well, let me share with you what I think are the WOW factors this year:

WOW! Factor #1: The Stage Is Gorgeous!

The very first thing that struck me when I stepped into the Indoor Stadium was how amazing the stage looked. Even before the show begun, many people were already taking photos of the stage. Love the lighting and the setup.

WOW! Factor #2: The Snow Falls!

Guaranteed to thrill every kid (and adult), I promise you. Of course, I don’t think I need to tell you which part of the show will the snow start falling. Not only does it level up the show, I feel that it was such a legitimate and necessary part of the show! At some point, I even felt like crying (It’s silly, I know!) because it was just beautiful and so apt.

WOW! Factor #3: Wait For The Floating Lanterns!

Again, another visual treat that mesmerized me. I’ve always loved this part of Entangled movie when the lanterns floated to the sky, but seeing them in an animated movie and seeing them before my eyes made a huge difference. It was such a beautiful part of the show for me, and I could hear the little kids around me going, ‘wow….. so nice….’ =P

WOW! Factor #4: Expect Highly Difficult Skating Moves!

Some of the moves attempted by the skaters were pretty high level and difficult, and got the audience clapping when they did a perfect somersault and double and triple flips. In fact, after the ‘snow’ came down and settled on the ice, I can imagine how slippery the entire ice surface was. We all know that the ‘snow’ was foam made from soap water. Nevertheless, 99% of the moves were executed perfectly, with one or two who fell because they didn’t land properly.

WOW! Factor #5: The Life-Sized Animals Come!

I don’t remember having that many life-sized animal characters on the show before, but this year, expect to see Kristoff’s reindeer – Sven and Flynn’s horse – Maximus all on the show! Every time they appeared on stage, the kids would be sure to scream a little!

WOW! Factor #6: The Frozen Characters Will All Be There!

I guess I don’t need to say more but if I only need to highlight one WOW! factor of this year’s Disney On Ice, this would be it. The creators of the show certainly knew that this was the pulling factor as well, and arranged it to be the finale of the show. The moment Frozen’s characters appeared on stage, everyone (including me!) cheered and screamed. The rendition of familiar tunes from the Frozen movie were so good! Almost everyone sang along and the atmosphere was pushed to another whole new level altogether. So glad they put in my favorite songs of ‘Do you wanna build a snowman?’, ‘Love is an open door’ and ‘Let it go’ – I thoroughly enjoyed myself in that last 30 minutes. Yes, I am a closet Frozen fan as well. =X

WOW!
Factor #7: Handsome Kristoff Is Very Handsome!

This is a little lame, but worthy to be mentioned anyway. Who doesn’t like eye-candy?? I don’t know how on earth they managed to find such a handsome guy to be Kristoff in the show, and one who actually looks like the onscreen Kristoff in the animation! When the show ended, I had to curb myself from going to the front to shake his hand and ask him why he is so handsome. Great self-control shown there, hehe.

So, you see. There are many reasons why you absolutely must go catch Disney On Ice 2016 before it ends! Several other shots I captured during the show:
