The Korean wave is blowing strong and I expect will only blow stronger and stronger. There is something about the Korean culture that draws people to them and I particularly admire the talents and hard work put in by Korean artistes to produce really quality work. If you are a fan of Korean performances just like me, I’ve got GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!
World class Korean performances - NANTA (Cookin’) and The Painters: HERO will be coming to Resorts World Sentosa for a very limited time in June during the school holidays and they are perfect options for a family day out because you will be able to appreciate and enjoy the performances no matter how old you are! If you are worried about not understanding Korean, fret not - You do not have to understand the language at all to enjoy the shows! Both are non-verbal shows which rely on infectious rhythms, painting and comedy to entertain the audience, from the young to the old.
NANTA (Cookin’)
This globally acclaimed production chopped, sliced and banged its way around the world in over 285 cities, entertaining over 8 million audiences worldwide. In fact, it is the first and the longest running Asian production staged at Broadway, having first opened at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1999. Just looking at the stock photos, I’m already looking forward to catching it! I expect that it’ll be a show full of action, sound-making and humor! I’ve always liked performances that are unconventional, and making music and putting together a whole show based on sounds made from chopping, slicing and frying woks is certainly one such performance!

The Painters: HERO
For those who are into the arts, this particular show will surely entice you! The Painters: HERO is an innovative production that combines the display of live drawing with visual effects, including 3D video art, accompanied by mime, dance and comedy. The fascinating process of making art, and the unexpected twists of each scene makes The Painters: HERO a riveting experience from start to finish. Returning to Singapore with new content centered on ‘Heroes’, the show invites you to watch in awe as Michael Jackson, Bruce Lee, Superman, and others are recreated through different techniques. I am full of anticipation for this show, which I believe will be a a gastronomical experience for our senses! Here’s a video clip of what you can expect at the show!
