I was really excited for the OSIM Sundown Marathon 2016 because it was going to be my first night run – I don’t work very well with sun, so morning runs are tough. Night runs would be much cooler (with no sun of course!) and I expect that my kids would be able to manage it better too. Before the run, the husband and I made a trip to Skechers store at ION Mall and chose new running shoes from their Performance series. You see, good running shoes make a whole world of difference, so it’s important to wear really good shoes for races. We are so grateful that Skechers is collaborating with us to provide superior wearer experiences, as we attempt to break personal records at various races that we participate in. Just look at the designs available – All so colorful and nice!
After browsing through the designs, I shortlisted to these two pairs (I’ve got to admit – It’s mainly because of the vibrant colors).
Tried the shoes on and was amazed (once again) at how lightweight and comfortable they are. The cushion provide so much comfort to the feet, and I feel as if I was walking on air with every step I take. So yes, this was my final decision – Go Run Ride 4 in shocking pink! =D
The hubby chose a pair of red Go Run Ride 4, and they looked gorgeous as well!
We are a family of Skechers wearers as you can see. Joey inherited my old pair of Skechers because her feet outgrew her original pair. On the day of Sundown Run, we were all raring to go!
I love the atmosphere at the OSIM Sundown Marathon 2016 – It was relaxing and chillax, and the weather was getting really nice as evening approached. By the way, the running singlet for Sundown 2016 has got to be my favorite among all the previous races I’ve participated in so far. It was in such a gorgeous hue of blue and really comfortable and fitting.
The back of the singlets say ‘Limitless’ – the slogan for OSIM Sundown Marathon 2016 – in a different colour. So nice, right?!
While waiting for the race to begin, we were just hanging around and enjoying the great scenery around us.
The only reason why I enjoy going for such runs is THEM. Even though my kids may not be able to run the entire journey, it was fun to share an experience like that as a family. Hopefully, while having fun, they also learn about the importance of perseverance and the never-say-die attitude!
As the sun came down completely and it turned dark, the race was about to begin. Everyone was excited and the DJs were just stirring everyone up and building the atmosphere.
Perhaps, the best thing about joining a race is finding out how limitless we really are. At the end of the day, we all want to achieve something and it becomes even more amazing when we can do more than we expected ourselves to do, and push that limit that was initially set before us.
It was a easy 5k fun run where everyone was in high spirits. Above all, I enjoyed the night scenery the most!
Completed the race with a lovely medal! =D
