My family had a really wonderful staycation with them a few weeks ago. Even though I pass by Conrad Centennial Singapore almost every day (it’s right in front of my workplace!), I was pleasantly surprised by several things I learnt about the hotel during my stay there. Since this year’s Conrad Centennial Singapore’s 20th birthday, let me share with you 20 interesting things about the hotel that you probably didn’t know about!
#1. Unlock your door with your smartphone
How convenient, right?! All you need is to download the Hilton HHonors app onto your phone and sync it with the hotel’s system and once your phone is near to the room door, it becomes a digital key to unlock the door. Easy peasy! If you are worried about security, it’s not a concern at all! Every room only allows one smartphone to unlock the door, and the option is only available when the smartphone is right in front of the room door. Plus, the kids go crazily excited about this unlocking feature that they fought to open the door every time!
#2. Full Marble Bathrooms
I love anything marble – It makes the whole space luxurious and very classy immediately. The moment we stepped into the bathroom in our room at Conrad Centennial Hotel, that was the feeling I got – So luxurious, classy and timeless. Every surface from the floor to the sink, bath tub, shower room and walls are marble! So lovely. =)
#3. Choose Your Favorite Bath Amenities
How many hotels allow you to choose which bath amenities brands you want to use? Conrad Centennial Hotel gives you a choice of not two, not three but FOUR different brands to choose from - Aromatherapy Associates, Shanghai Tang, Tara Smith (which is Vegan) and Refinery for Men. Indeed, scent is a very personal thing and can make or break a bath experience. Kudos to the hotel for being so personal and caring about it. Yes, I smelled every one of them before deciding which one to go for.
If you had requested for a baby cot in your room, they even supply baby bath amenities! Somebody say, “Awwwww…..’. :)
#4. Spacious Guest Rooms
One of the most important things about a hotel room, especially for a family on a staycation, is the amount of space they get. The rooms at Conrad Centennial Hotel are surprisingly spacious and huge. Love it that there is a corner for an armchair for some reading, table for writing and doing some work, huge bed frame and yet still not feel crammed! That’s value-for-money, I say. And nobody wants to leave the room!
#5. Collect Your Conrad Bears!
I love it when hotels have mascots that represent who they are. Conrad Centennial Hotel not only has one, they have different versions for collection! It’s totally my thing – I get deliriously happy when I know I manage to get something cute in a complete set (there’s also a red one not in pic) – I guess that’s why collectibles and limited editions are so popular?!
#6. Suntec Fountain of Wealth All Day Long
I bet you don’t know how therapeutic it is to watch the Fountain of Wealth and the cars going round and round, right? This bird’s eye view is possible only from one of the rooms in Conrad Centennial Hotel. Oh well, you can also see this from one of the offices in one of the Suntec Towers, but don’t tell me you’re going to go around knocking on offices to let you in?
#7. Eco-Friendly Policy
Yes, Conrad Centennial Hotel cares for the environment – They don’t encourage bedlinens and towels to be replaced everyday to save water and electricity as part of their love and care for the environment, so you can play your part too and feel good about it. But of course, if you would still like to have them replaced anyway, please feel free to do so. They’ll be happy to oblige. =)
#8. A Full Pillow Menu
Everyone loves our own pillows at home, so sometimes one of the things we can’t get used to when we stay in a hotel is the pillow. Conrad Centennial Hotel understands that, so they have a full pillow menu for you to choose your favorite pillow for a good night’s rest. Go on, choose how hard or soft, how high or low or what fillings in your pillows – It’s all up to you. There are 15 different types to choose from. If you still cannot find something to your comfort level, I have nothing else to say.
#9. The Special Touches
I have no idea how the hotel staff seems to know when we leave the rooms. Every time we come back to the room after going somewhere, we find something nice waiting for us. When they heard that it was our wedding anniversary weekend, they even delivered a slice of cake to us! Conrad Centennial Hotel is good at surprising their guests and making them feel loved round-the-clock.

#11. Spectacular View From The Pool
I literally gasped when I stepped outdoors to the swimming pool and saw this view! Love it that there are high rise buildings that surround the pool – I felt strangely liberated in this space.
#12. Luxurious Hotel Lobby
There is something about luxurious hotel lobbies that differentiates a budget hotel from one that is not. I love the lightings in Conrad Centennial Hotel’s lobby, with the lush landscaping done to perfection. It is so nice to relax in this space with a drink and just enjoy the ambience and very classy furnishings everywhere.
#13. Live Music Performance
You know, I often see grand pianos in hotels, but most of the time, they are just another piece of furniture in an attempt to make the whole space more classy and luxurious. This is not true at Conrad Centennial Hotel because during our stay there, we heard the pianist play beautiful and soothing tunes often, and that totally upped the staycation factor at the hotel. Ambience is a big draw of the hotel, and they have put everything together so well. Love it.
#14. Poolside Alfresco Dining
I always equate Alfresco dining by the poolside to vacations, so I fell in love with this space at Conrad Centennial Hotel. Have small bites or grab a drink here anytime of the day – It will totally complete your holiday and vacation experience. For families, you can even see your kids swimming from here!
#15. Weekend Dim Sum Experience
I know that Golden Peony – the Chinese restaurant in Conrad Centennial Hotel – is a rather popular choice for families, but I didn’t know that they offer a Weekend Dim Sum experience that is perfect for families. We had a chance to try it during the staycation and every single dish was delicious!
#16. Nearby To Popular Places Of Interest
One of the great advantages of staying at Conrad Centennial Hotel is how accessible it is to popular places of interest in Singapore. You can walk to the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay, Esplanade or shopping malls such as Marina Square, Suntec City Mall, Raffles City, etc. The Duck & Hippo Tour counter is nearby and just a short MRT ride away is the Indoor stadium, Kallang Wave Mall etc. So many entertainment options just at their door’s step!
#17. Ask For Your Pre-Set Jogging Route
Jogging is a very fun thing in the CBD and town area, especially in the evenings. There are many things to see and many fellow joggers everywhere. Now, 24-hour hotel gyms always make me happy! This just means that after the kids have gone to bed, we can go and have a workout at the gym, without worrying about the time. Conrad Centennial Hotel’s gym is so well-equipped with all kind of equipment you need for a perfect rejuvenating session any time of the day!
#19. Sumptuous Breakfast Every Morning
Yes, I LOVE BREAKFASTS. Especially hotel breakfast, yes! Breakfast buffet at Conrad Centennial Hotel is amazing – They even have ice-cream!!!
