Ever since I’ve been introduced to Skechers, I’ve fallen in love with how light and comfortable their shoes are. Unlike many other brands of sports shoes I’ve owned previously, Skechers shoes are extremely lightweight, thus making every run or walk a breeze, yet providing superb support and cushioning for my feet. In fact, they are so comfortable that I wear my Skechers everywhere I go – To work everyday, for shopping during weekends and for workouts and runs during lunch hours. They are perfect for every occasion, and always stylish and matching with most of my attires. I super love all my Skechers!
As I was participating in the first ever Blacklight Run in Singapore (sponsored by Skechers), I was invited to choose a new pair of shoes from the Skechers Performance series. I was elated, of course! But what I didn’t know was that I would be meeting my most favorite pair of shoes in this season of my life. Skechers’ Performance series shoes are perfect for runs, but this particular pair that I could not take my eyes off is more for running on treadmills in the gym as well as workout classes that I attend frequently such as Zumba and Body Combat.
Apart from these practical reasons, I chose this pair of GoRun 400 because it is too pretty! I thought I love my pink Skechers, but now I LOVE my camo Skechers! =P
I love how comfortable the shoes are, and the moment I shared about it on social media, so many friends asked me about it, and many told me how pretty it was and that they want the same pair too! Haha! Looks like my friends have great taste just like me!
After I got the shoes, I went a little overboard matching my clothes to my new kicks! Everywhere I went, I got compliments for them and that made me super happy of course. =D
So, with my new Skechers GoRun 400, I went for the first ever Blacklight Run on 29 Oct 2016 on Sentosa! The race pack on its own was amazing – Packed with all kinds of accessories that light up or glow in the dark. I think it must be one of the best race packs I have ever received and it got me all excited even before the race!
Almost everything could be lit up including rubber rings, spectacles, light sticks and even shoelaces! How very cool, right?!
All the lights even came with 3 different settings – Non-blinking, slow blinking or fast blinking! Say what??!
I envisioned it to be a very colorful night with everyone donning the lighted accessories and waving their light sticks, and it turned out exactly the way I imagined it to be! There was a pre-run party as well as a post-run party, and everyone was having a good time before, during and after the run. So glad I could be a part of it, and for that few hours that night, the husband and I felt really young again! =P
That’s me at the end of the race, with neon paint splashed all over me and glowing in the dark wherever I went. Super duper cool!

And if you are thinking about buying a new pair of shoes for running, I strongly recommend Skechers! A word of caution though – Once you’ve gotten your first pair, it might be a little hard to stop. =X
