Buy Christmas Tree & Decorations Online! (Sponsored)

My all-time favourite season of the year is coming very soon! There is something magical and happy about Christmas, and every year, I try to put my Christmas tree up a little earlier and tear it down as late as I can. Anyone else as excited as me?? =P

This year, the house is decked out in Christmas decorations since last week and everyday when I see them, I get a little more excited for Christmas. How pretty!

If you have not gotten your Christmas tree and decorations, but you don't want to go squeeze in the mall with many others, fret not! Here's an online shop you should totally check out -> Christmas Tree Singapore  Just for Christmas trees alone, there are so many different ones to choose from, you'll be spoilt for choice! It would suit different budgets as well.

If you are not so good at matching colours and designing your Christmas tree, you can even opt for bundles which come with the tree, tree topper, baubles for the tree and LED lights! So convenient and easy. Best of all, everything's going at reduced promotional prices now, so I really don't know why are you still waiting! But of course, if you want to pick and choose the different Christmas ornaments for your trees, go ahead! They have so many to choose from, but hurry because I spotted that some are always out-of-stock!

And of course, a Christmas tree is not enough. You need to get Christmas decorations to dress up your house for this happy season! Now that we are finally seeing some light in the midst of the pandemic, I say we should all celebrate and rejoice to end the year on a good note! And let's start with dressing up our home!

One of the best ways to dress up our homes during Christmas is by using wreaths! Look how gorgeous these look:

They are classic and timeless and you can always reuse them year after year - a very worthwhile investment indeed!

Now, the next time someone asks you where to buy Christmas trees, point them to this online shop and get all that you need, delivered right to your doorstep! Delivery is at $10 only and purchases above $100 get you free delivery!

Their trees look realistic and dense, and would make any home look festive instantly! Get yours today! =D A very merry (early) Christmas to everyone!

An Italian Christmas At The Cliff, Sofitel Sentosa (Food Tasting)

I'm not sure about you, but I am exceptionally excited for Christmas this year! Maybe it's because 2020 has been an extraordinary year like no other or perhaps I am just looking for a good and restful break after a whole year of hard work. Or maybe it's the thought that 2020 is finally ending and we can start anew in 2021! Haha! But I really find myself looking forward to the Christmas season with great anticipation. Thanks to Sofitel Sentosa, I got an early head start to the festive season at The Cliff, when I went to taste their Christmas dinner menu!

If you want to skip the crowds expected during the week leading up toe Christmas, I would encourage you to go for an early Christmas feast! It's never too early to soak ourselves in the most wonderful time of the year - The Cliff is offering their Italian-themed Christmas lunch and dinner from now all the way till end of December!

The hotel was already beautifully decorated for Christmas. Always love Sofitel Sentosa for its beautiful landscaping that makes you feel enveloped by nature and greeneries. It is always relaxing to step into the hotel grounds! We arrived at The Cliff before it got completely dark for the night, and got ourselves a table at the alfresco dining area that overlooked a beautiful sea view. The sunset was a gorgeous orange and really mesmerizing. It was a perfect date night setting for us!

For this year, The Cliff is offering an Italian 3-course lunch or 5-course dinner for Christmas .  Let me bring you through our dinner in pictures so you have a visual feast as well!

We were served bread basket and champagne (complimentary to media and not included in the Christmas menu) to start off!

The bread as so yummy I asked for second servings, unreservedly. =P

For the first course, we were served the Spiced Walnut & Ricotta Crostini. I am not a fan of dairy and cheese, but the ricotta tasted super good and not cheesy like I imagined. So glad I was brave enough to at least try it. The whole concoction was so magical - every ingredient worked perfectly together for an intense and satisfying burst of flavours in my mouth! The texture was enhanced by the crunchy-ness of the walnuts and toasted crostini. I was really quite impressed with the starter.

Next, we had an Endive & Persimmon Salad which was so appetizing. It was tangy and sweet, and the crunchy vegetables were really refreshing and light. I love the pomegranate and toasted pumpkin seeds in the salad, and how colourful it looked!

For the first main, you can choose between Pork and Veal Tortellini in Clear Meat Broth or Beetroot & Goat Cheese Ravioli. I had the former while the husband opted for the latter. The broth was deep with flavours (like chicken consommé boiled for hours!) and the tortellini were tasty as well, filled with minced meat. The ravioli might be a challenge for non-cheese lovers like me, but if you like cheese, you might want to choose that!

For the second main, you can choose between Braised Beef Short Rib, Polenta and Horseradish Gremolata or Caramelised Kabochua Squash Risotto. If you are not a vegetarian, I would totally recommend the braised beef short rib because it was just so delightful! The meat has become so tender after hours of braising and it falls off the bone easily. Every bite was flavourful and delicious! The risotto paled in comparison but tasted yummy as well, especially with the grilled squash. It would be a good option if you don't take beef.

The final course was the dessert and it was a Dark Chocolate Ricotta Yule Log cake that was delicious and satisfying. I love dark chocolate!! And the cherries were great additions to this dish!

We had such a wonderful time at dinner, just relaxing and chit-chatting while enjoying the wonderful ambience. It's definitely the most wonderful time of the year! Thank you so much, Sofitel Sentosa The Cliff, for your warm hospitality and delicious offerings!

A Tale Of Wishes Come True At Seletar Mall This Christmas!

Media Invite

Christmas is indeed the most wonderful time of the year!

Everywhere we go, there is a happy vibe in the air and I especially love stepping into shopping malls during this festive season because there are great sales going on, happy Christmas carols playing and lots of interesting and fun programs happening! Everywhere you turn to, there are smiling faces and generally everyone is gearing up for a good year-end break. This Christmas, Seletar Mall has so much to offer to everyone so it’ll be a real pity if you don’t make a trip down!

IMG_2832

We popped by Seletar Mall last weekend and were totally immersed in the joyous Christmas mood. They have an array of fun programs all planned out for the whole month of December!

GIANT TOY CAPSULE MACHINE!

IMG_2843

Look at that stage design! Can you tell that it’s a giant toy capsule machine?! There were so many people queuing up for their chance at the toy capsule machines and the whole stage area was bustling with excitement as the giant balls rolled down to determine the prizes won! There are four tiers of prizes to be won, with the highest tier being SPH Malls vouchers – Of course everyone wants to try! All you need to do is to spend a minimum of $20 for a go on the Sir Little Giant Toy Capsule Machine to win SPH Malls vouchers and prizes!

KIDS’ GAME STATIONS!

But what got the kids really excited were the game stations. But of course, the stations had such cute designs and names - even I felt like playing! =X So, there were 3 different game stations that the kids could try – Pobo, a mini basketball game; Delphy, a snow bowling game; and Pinkie, a game of colours. All were simple games but it was obvious the kids had great fun playing and laughing even when they did not manage to win anything. That’s the spirit of Christmas, I guess – It’s all about having fun and enjoying the atmosphere of love and joy, while making your wishes come true!

Gingerbread House Decor Workshop 2017 at Shangri-La Hotel

Media Invite

Shangri-La Hotel has a popular and sold-out workshop every Christmas – Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop which the girls attended two years ago. This year, we were invited back again and the girls were sooooo looking forward to it because they had such fond memories of the previous one!

I personally love the workshop as well because of many reasons – The workshop is always very well-organized with all the materials prepared and ready for us when we arrive and with so many pretty decorating candies and chocolates to choose from! The staff are amazing as well – Many of them would be going around to help the kids with building their gingerbread house, always with a smile and a lot of patience (even when the kids got too rough and the house tumbled down =P). Plus, every workshop comes with lots of Christmas goodies and delicious cakes, pastries and snacks. With happy Christmas carols playing in the background, your mood really gets lifted up in an instance in that place! At least that was what I remembered from the workshop two years ago!

This year was no exception. We stepped into the function room where the workshop was to be held, and the tables were all set up with smiling staff and chefs welcoming us in. Check out the gingerbread house before assembly!

IMG_1586IMG_1587

Every participant not only leaves with their gingerbread house at the end of the workshop, but also their mini chef’s toque and apron!

IMG_1575

The girls wasted no time in gathering their materials and ingredients for their gingerbread house. Just look at the abundant colorful selections! Love it!

IMG_1591IMG_1593IMG_1595

The girls were grinning from ear to ear throughout the workshop. But of course, this is so much fun!

IMG_1596IMG_1597IMG_1598IMG_1601IMG_1605

I have to admit that building the gingerbread house was not exactly easy. Two years ago, the girls tried to build it on their own only to realise that they didn’t pipe enough frosting to hold the house together. Of course the chefs came to their rescue then. This time round, they immediately requested for the chefs’ help on the get-go! =P

IMG_1612IMG_1618IMG_1619

Love how workshops like these help to build creativity in the girls. They were free to decorate their houses with any of the candies and chocolates (they were eating half of whatever they took though, haha!).

IMG_1628IMG_1637IMG_1638

In fact, they kept piling more and more decorations on the gingerbread house that I thought that I couldn’t really see the house anymore! =P

IMG_1647IMG_1650IMG_1653IMG_1654IMG_1658IMG_1661IMG_1670

The girls were mighty proud of their designs, and I was too! Great job, girls!

IMG_1664IMG_1671

And then it was time to fill our stomachs with all the lovely Christmas cookies, cakes, tarts and donuts! It was such a sumptuous spread, omgosh! And of course, everything tasted delicious and I was just basking in the whole Christmassy atmosphere – So much happiness!

IMG_1577IMG_1578IMG_1579IMG_1580IMG_1581IMG_1582IMG_1583IMG_1584IMG_1585IMG_1622IMG_1624IMG_1625

If there is only one workshop you can opt to go for this Christmas season, this is the ONE! Shangri-La Hotel’s Gingerbread House Decor Workshop is a sell-out every year, so make sure you go get your tickets when it’s available for sale starting next week! Workshops happen on Sat & Sun – Check out www.shangri-la.com for more information or call +65 6213 4398/ email dining.sls@shangri-la.com to make your reservations. :)

Thanks for the invite, Shangri-La! We had tons of fun as always! :)
